YOU&I involved 30 young people from the Yarra Ranges taking part in a creative process to explore their understanding of Respectful Relationships. The eight week workshop process, led by artist Yandell Walton, took place across three sites; Mooroolbark, Mt Evelyn and Yarra Junction. YOU&I culminated in an exhibition at the Red Earth Gallery, Mooroolbark Community Centre in June 2012 and two public paste up art works in Lilydale & Yarra Junction. A touring photomedia exhibition is available for galleries on request. YOU&I was developed and implemented by Ranges Community Health, Yarra Ranges Council, Yarra Valley Community Health and Morrisons. Photomedia works were created using point and shoot cameras and edited Picassa. Each week the artists captured images exploring relationships and emotions. One work per artist was printed on fine art rag paper, mounted and exhibited at the Red Earth Gallery. Stop Motion Animations were created using point and shoot cameras and edited in Picassa. Artists worked in small groups with the theme of communication. The finished works were projected as part of the exhibition at the Red Earth Gallery. Collaborative Paste Up projects were developed in each group responding to the theme of Respectful Relationships. This process lead to two public works, in Yarra Junction and Lilydale and a portable work on boards, suitable for gallery installation.
